நாட்டின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளிலும்
அண்மைக்காலமாக முஸ்லிம் குழுக்களுக்கிடையிலான மோதல்கள் அதிகரித்துள்ளதாக
பொலிஸார் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.இந்த மோதல் சம்பவங்கள் மதக் குழுக்களுக்கு மத்தியில் இடம்பெறுவதாக பொலிஸ் ஊடகப் பேச்சாளர் அஜித் ரோகண தெரிவித்தார்.
அண்மையில் இரண்டு முஸ்லிம் குழுக்களுக்கிடையே மாதம்பே மற்றும் குச்சவெலி
பகுதிகளில் மோதல் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளது.பல்வேறு முஸ்லிம் குழுக்கள் புதிய
பள்ளிவாசல்களைத் திறப்பதால் இவ்வாறு மோதல்கள் ஏற்படுவதாக பொலிஸ் ஊடகப்
பேச்சாளர் குறிப்பிட்டார்.
எந்தக் குழுவென்றாலும் வன்முறை மூலம் பிரச்சினைக்கு தீர்வு காண
முற்பட்டால் சட்ட நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் என பொலிஸ் ஊடகப் பேச்சாளர்
மேலும் தெரிவித்தார்.-
The police have noted a rise in inter-Muslim clashes in various parts
of the country in the recent past. Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana
said that the incidents are taking place at a time there are reports of
clashes among religious groups.
The police spokesman said that recently there was a clash between two Muslim groups in Madampe and another clash in Kuchaveli.
Most clashes are over opening new Mosques of different Muslim groups
and the police spokesman says such disputes can be resolved by the
Ministry of Buddha Sasana and Religious Affairs.
He said that the Ministry has the right to decide on new Mosques
being built in any area and so any dispute over a Mosque should be taken
to the Ministry and not be addressed through violence.
The police spokesman said that if any group attempts to resolve such
disputes through violent means then legal action will be taken. (Colombo
