மதத்தலங்கள் மீது தாக்குதல்கள் மத சகியாமையின் அறிகுறி இல்லையாம் கூறுகிறது : அரசாங்கம்

இலங்கையில் மத வழிப்பாட்டு தலங்கள் மீது நடத்தப்பட்ட அரிதாக நிகழும் தாக்குதல்கள்  எனவும் மத வெறுப்போ, மத சகியாமையின் அறிகுறியோ அல்ல  என அரசாங்கம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.ஜெனிவா மனித உரிமை பேரவையின் 25 வது கூட்டத் தொடரில் சுதந்திரம் அல்லது மதம் அல்லது நம்பிக்கை தொடர்பான ஐ.நா விசேட அறிக்கையாளர் ஹெய்னர் பொலிபெல்ட் இன்று தாக்கல் செய்த அறிக்கை பற்றிய கலந்துரையாடலில் கலந்து கொண்டு பேசிய இலங்கை பிரதிநிதி இதனை கூறியுள்ளார்.

மத வழிப்பாட்டு தலங்கள் மீதான தாக்குதல்களை அரசாங்கம் மன்னிக்கவில்லை என்றும் இலங்கை பிரதிநிதி குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். அனைத்து சம்பவங்கள் குறித்தும் பொலிஸில் முறைப்பாடுகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன், சந்தேக நபர்களை நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஆஜர்ப்படுத்துவது உட்பட சட்ட நடவடிக்கைகள் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

இலங்கையின் சமூக, கலாசார, வரலாற்று விதிமுறைகளை கொண்டு வழக்கமான உரையாடல்கள் மூலம் மக்கள் மத்தியில் மத நல்லிணக்க புரிந்துணர்வை உறுதிப்படுத்த பல்வேறு மட்டங்களில் பரந்தளவில் தொடர் முனைப்புகளை அரசாங்கம் மேற்கொண்டுள்ளது எனவும் இலங்கை பிரதிநிதி கூறியுள்ளார்.

The Government insisted today that attacks on some places of worship are isolated incidents and are not a sign of religious hatred or intolerance. In a statement at the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Freedom or Religion or Belief, Heiner Beilefeldt at the 25th session of the UN Human Rights Council, the Sri Lankan delegation said that the Government does not condone attacks of places of religious worship.

The Sri Lankan delegation said that in all instances where police complaints have been lodged, the legal process has been set in motion, including producing suspects before Magistrates.

“More broadly, in keeping with Sri Lanka’s societal, cultural and historical norms, regular dialogue continues to take place at various levels to ensure interfaith harmony and understanding amongst its diverse populace,” Sri Lanka told the UNHRC at the session today.

The Sri Lankan delegation said that the country is home to a multi-ethnic and multi-religious community where the people have co-existed harmoniously for centuries.

The delegation added that all people in Sri Lanka enjoy freedom of religion, including the freedom to adopt a religion or belief of their choice. (Colombo Gazette)
